Are you a mindful detective?

On Friday, April 9th, 7th grade students in Mrs. Manning's reading classes learned how to think like the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. With the help of WMS PRO Gregg Harris, students examined a crime scene for evidence and clues to see if they could be mindful detectives.

After reading the Scope article "How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes," students spent time at the 'scene' taking notes and looking for clue. They then returned to Manning's room where they tried to answer questions about the scene. The students participated in this activity to introduce the Scope Play "Sherlock Holmes and the Midnight Killer," an adapted version of the famous Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story "The Speckled Band."

(No cats in hats were actually harmed in the making of this crime scene.)
